About Karman
MY STORYSince 2010, I’ve worked with hundreds of individuals to improve their health, presented to various audiences across the country on wellness topics, and hosted a nationally-broadcasted program based on my 1st book.
My focus in the field of nutrition is on sleep and mood. Food is often overlooked as having a role in how we sleep but there is a strong connection between what we eat and how we sleep, which is what my first book, Eat To Sleep: What To Eat & When To Eat It for a Good Night’s Sleep, is all about! I often work with companies and their employees to provide education and practical tips for improving sleep through food choices and lifestyle changes. This is a topic I also speak on at conferences with various health professional groups.
I’m the founder of the recipe website, TheNutritionAdventure.com, which I started in 2013 as a way to keep track of and share recipes with friends and family. Be sure to hop over if you’re looking for a new recipe to try!
In January 2023, my 2nd book, The Everything DASH Diet Meal Prep Cookbook, was published and it’s been such a joy to share my recipes with more people, and to help those looking to reduce blood pressure through food. I love being able to help people enjoy delicious, nutritious food at home.
In my free time, you’ll most likely find me hiking with my husband, doing yoga, gardening, or in the kitchen trying a new recipe.
I’ve always enjoyed cooking, trying new cuisines, and learning the science behind food, so becoming a dietitian was the perfect career choice for me. I studied nutrition & dietetics at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio before completing my dietetic internship (similar to a residency program!) at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.
